I got to model for the sweetly beautiful, wonderfully talented Anrdrea Diodatti, in her Occupy your Love collection. The collection was shown at Lincon center when we occupied fashion week and at willamsburg fashion week. We were occupying to start a discussion about how to make fashion a more democratic system. With a show at fashion week costing more than college education, how can a  independent designer participate and get their voice heard?
I LOVE THIS LADY

Sadiaco

I just met the most magical man. His name was Serge Saddia, and he has owned Sadico, a shop next door to the BLESS showroom that sells an undefinable genre of random goods. Even though Sadiaco sells everything from stationary to portable vacum cleaners for some reason everything in the shop works together in some beutiful way. Most of the products look as if they have been sitting in the shop for thirty years waiting to be found. For example the pen I bought from Sadiaco and the ink had already dried up. The store had  boxes and boxes of random unopened vintage electronics would make  the  buyer for urban outfiters die with excitement., and many other strange novelty items.

When serge told me he had owned the shop for 50 years I was amazed because he does not look much older than 50, but it turns out he is 79 years old. Serge has  been married for 50 years, he speaks over 5 languages, has 4 children living in 4 different countries many grand children and even great grand children.  Our conversation lasted for about and an hour and began by me asking him what his secrets were for staying young. Here are a few of his tips:

  • alway ways do what you feel you need to do. If your body wants to drink, drink, if you want a cigarette smoke a cigarette
  • enjoy the worlds splendors
  • choose your friends.
  • always keep the mind active

I was really happy to make a new friend. I left the shop with Serge’s buisness card, an invitation to always come in and chat, a dried out blue ink pen, crusty primary colored tempra paint pallete, “the worlds smallest camera” that takes 110 mm film,  and a nail kit  that I actually owned when  I was a little girl that is packaged in a mini leather brief case.

I love Mimo Saddia (serge) and his shop of wonders!!!
